The second edition of Nutrition Through the Life Cycle differs from the first in a number of ways:
* Information on Dietary Reference Intakes released through spring 2004 is incorporated throughout the text.
* Case studies are included in Chapters 2 through 19 and conform to a standard format. Questions for students appear at the end of each case study, and answers to the questions are provided in Appendix D of the text.
* Information in Chapter 1 on basic nutrition is covered in more depth.
* Content on food safety and cross-cultural nutritional considerations by life-cycle phase is increased.
* Web resources listed at the end of each chapter have been expanded and updated.
