The Molecular Biology Of HIV/AIDS
This book has been designed to give the newcomer to the field an introduction to HIV and AIDS, and to impart a flavour of some of the more exciting areas of research by leading a little more deeply into selected subjects, with an emphasis on pathogenesis. Newer findings of massive viral and lymphocyte turnover, thoughts on the significance of viral cofactors and recent advances in the field of AIDS related tumours are included, as well as a specific chapter on the brain where the pathogenetic mechanisms appear to be significantly different from elsewhere in the body..
This series is designed to bridge the gap between pure research in the biomedical sciences and its practical application in clinical medicine. The objective is to promote the understanding of the molecular basis of human physiology and disease, and new techniques for diagnosis and treatment.
